So, I happened to commit this mistake of watching a horror movie, specifically, 'The curse of the weeping woman' in Vizag. As expected, there were some jump-scares...which scared the hell out of people. I know the characters sometimes have to do some ill-logical steps which invites the ghost/demons/whatever, but pointing/shouting out things like 'Don't enter that door' isn't gonna help much.
Especially, the crowd who try prevent/handle the seriousness of the horror-scenes by making jokes and laughing among themselves. If you want to do this, don't watch the horror movie, FFS, don't spoil the experience of others.
On the other hand, I also saw 'Us'. I enjoyed it thoroughly, actually getting engraved in the story (still get the goosebumps), thanks to an almost empty theatre. Some guys were talking and one brave lady shut them down. Thanks to that random lady.
Tl:Dr; don't spoil horror movies by laughing and making jokes in theaters
