Ok, so NO you don't need to pirate, there's a little something called 'gamecopyworld' you download the Steam game update and all DLC (If you want) and use the files on the site to remove DRM, is the best way to run it, some people actually have (wine) wrappers that also use Steam (Kind of excessive if you ask me) you don't even need a PC you can look-up a guide on SteamCMD on how to download. According to Bethesda, the Creation Kit will allow fans to 'upload, download, and install custom content through the Skyrim Workshop on Steam making sharing mods easier than ever before.'

Fallout 4 [official site] just got a lot more interesting. The Creation Kit – which Bethesda say is “the same tool that we used to create Fallout 4” – is now available to download via the Bethesda.net launcher. The modding tools have now moved into open beta and you’ll need to follow some simple instructions to get them working via Steam. Once you’ve opted in, you’ll be able to browse and install mods from within the game.

The important thing to note from that video is that your precious mods, created on your PC, might sneak through Bethesda’s internet-tubes and find their way onto consoles. Imagine that! Turns out we’re all on the same internet after all.

The danger of easy-to-install mods, for me, is that I tend to throw so much crap into my game that there’s no consistency. Yeah, that guy is dressed as Doink the Clown and over there you might see a whack-a-mole hammer attached to a suit of power armour.

I’d rather create a curated experience using mods, adding only things that are either too brilliant to ignore or that are at least thematically appropriate. A darker, nastier Wasteland, maybe? Heck, if it’s possible to make a total conversion in which there are no other living people, just the ghouls and the beasties, I’d love to take that for a spin. Fallout 4 as survival horror.

Log into Steam
Right Click on Fallout 4 in your Library
Select Properties
Select Betas
A drop down menu will appear. Select beta
Wait a few minutes and Fallout 4 should update
When done, Fallout 4 should appear as Fallout 4 [Beta] in your Library

If you've been using the Creation Kit on PC, you know it's a bit of a hassle to have to go through the Bethesda Launcher each time you wish to use the program or wait for it to boot up the BethLauncher before the CK. Here's how to get around that, very easy.

If you look closely at the shortcut that the Bethesda Launcher put on your desktop, you can see that it isn't actually a shortcut. The target points to the Bethesda Launcher, which in turn will run the game for you, Screenshot. For example, if we change the address to bethesdanet://run/8, it will run FO:Shelter instead. This address is the same way Steam shortcuts are done, though they thankfully don't take as long to launch.

All we have to do is go to the installation directory of Fallout 4, which should be C:Program Files (x86)SteamsteamappscommonFallout 4 . or wherever you installed it. Now create a shortcut from CreationKit.exe and use that to launch the game! Keep in mind that the Bethesda Launcher doesn't have to be open, but if it is closed you might get an error message saying it can't connect to Bethesda.Net, it's been inconsistent for me.
